Hi,
I'm not well aware of how to evaluate most NFL players right now. I know most of the traditional stats like QB rating, yards rushed, catches, etc. I know these really aren't giving me an accurate view of the players however so a few questions...
What types of advanced stats are out there for football that are best? I'm really into this stuff and i want to be informed about the players on our team.
A few thoughts on the team:
I'll be interested to see what Harbaugh can do with Alex. I'm not sure Alex is a good player but i'm sure he's never had good situation to succeed. Maybe he can still be the QB of the future, but i kinda remember most thought he would be a mid to late 1st round pick in most NFL drafts anyway. I think Kaepernick has great tools to become a good QB (better than Alex honestly). He should probably sit for at least 2 years. He needs corrections to his mechanics and needs to adjust to the NFL. I think he should be starting in year 3 barring something unfortunate.
I like the Hunter pick but is he going to replace Gore? Gore is getting old. We should be looking for his replacement soon. Crabtree seems overrated to me. Hasn't been very good. Vernon's the true receiving star. Doesn't our offensive line suck? I don't know how many times Gore has been tackled in the backfield.
Just my thoughts.
