Raheem Morris Talks To Players: Similar Harbaugh-esque Warning Coming From NFL?
Per PFT, Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris admitted in a radio interview that he has been in touch with some of his players during the lockout:
Caller: So they're right over there. They're making such a strong [impact with the kids]. ...Those guys [and other Buccaneers] come out and put a lot of time into those boys.
Raheem: Hey listen. I talk to them all the time. I talk to those guys all the time. [Raheem then changes subject to address an earlier question.]
49ers coach Jim Harbaugh has received multiple warnings for his interactions with QB Alex Smith. Recently he was warned about his comments regarding Alex Smith during the lockout. At that point he said he was not going to comment on Smith anymore given the league warning.
I'm guessing Coach Morris will likely be receiving a call at some point in the near future from Der Kommissar, if he hasn't already. Personally I hope every 49ers coach is doing whatever they can under the radar to contact 49ers players. While I generally believe in playing by the rules, this is a situation where everything about it is ridiculous, so why should the rules be any less so? The 49ers are going to need every edge they can get in the coming so as the saying goes, "If you're not cheating, you're not trying."

This "no coaching during the lockout" rule is stupid
and the 49ers would be willingly screwing themselves over by abiding it, especially since we have a completely new coaching staff and system coming in.
Technically, Morris and/or Bucs franchise should get fined....
I really don’t care if they get any warning or discipline, but he’s talking about having regular contact with players during the lockout. He essentially admitted to blatantly breaking the rules of no contact with any players.
Our indiscretion, was that Harbs was having a game of catch and talking to Smith while he was still technically under contract and he was practically serenading him during the lockout, but no direct conversations were documented. The warning we got was bogus.

This sounds like "Don't ask - Don't tell" policy.
Keep it out of the media and they won’t call you on it.
