At the time of writing this, yesterday's matchup is incredibly close. The one-seed juggernaut "Brett Favre's Media Whoring" is losing ground to blackouts. It's still got the lead and will probably end up winning, but it's worth noting that the number one seed doesn't look unstoppable like it did before. I personally voted for blackouts, but I wouldn't feel bad at all about voting for the former.
Today, we have the surprising "Tanking The Season To Draft Andrew Luck" taking on the new kickoff rule. I certainly didn't expect the former to make it this far in the tournament, and I fully expect the latter to win today's match. Either way, it is terrible and it isn't necessarily undeserving or anything of that nature. We've only got a few more matches in this tournament of badness, so be sure and get your votes in. I can't wait to see who actually takes this, I made my prediction on Twitter already.
This is a tournament of badness and as such, you need to be voting for the absolute worst of the two in any given matchup. I don't think I need to be saying it at this point, but just so there isn't any confusion ... I know that people have been confused by ballots and instructions before. Vote for which one you think is more awful than the other, so in the end, we can truly have the worst thing in the NFL. Jump for a description of the two entrants in today's matchup and a look at the rest of the elite eight.
(12) Tanking The Season To Draft Andrew Luck
Ugh. Really, guys? This is the best thing we can think of? You don't like a draft pick? Well that's good, we can tank the season and draft Andrew Luck. What, we have to travel to Green Bay again? Tank the season to draft Andrew Luck. Alex Smith is our quarterback? He should lose games on purpose because that will be smart for him to do. Herp and derp and derp and herp, gents. That's all I have to say to you. I wash my hands of that silliness.
(3) New Kickoff Rule
The NFL decided that they were going to move up kickoffs for player safety. As such, there will be a helluva lot more touchbacks. Like a lot more, to the point where it's going to be happening multiple times a game, probably. They said that it was for player safety, but I imagine they only did it so they can say the game is safer, so they can get closer to an eighteen-game season. To me, that really is the driving force behind the new rule, and that's what makes it worse. I just hate how, before the rule, it really did feel like kickoffs and special teams could change a game. It really was 1/3 of a football game, now I feel like kickoffs when down will have a lot less excitement, and it definitely is no longer on the same level as offense and defense.
