Official NN Free Agency/Trade Thread [7/25]

Now that football is officially back, I'd imagine we'll see an uptick in FanPosts on every topic imaginable. It's been a barren desert of information and all FanPosts during this time have been much appreciated. With the NFL likely getting back to business this week, free agency will start around the league. We'll have undrafted free agents signing with teams, free agents re-signing with their own teams and other teams, and of course player trades and cuts. We've got five months of transactions boiled down into about a week. Good times.

Given how much information will be floating around, it will be counter-productive to have people opening up a new FanPost or FanShot every time they see a free agency or trade rumors. So, much like we did heading into the NFL Draft, we'll have a FanPost dedicated to free agency discussion. As it fills up we'll add a new FanPost, much like we have done with the community thread. The goal of this is to keep the conversations within a single FanPost when possible.

Now, this does not mean there can be no other FanPosts dedicated to free agency. However, if you're going to write up something related to free agency or trades or cuts, it needs to be detailed and thorough. For example, if you want to discuss Nate Clements contract situation, normally thoughts on it would go in this FanPost. However, if you want to break it down more thoroughly looking at other cornerbacks who've had contracts restructured, or any other unique take on the topic, then a new FanPost could conceivably work.

If you write a FanPost that would better be served as a comment here, I or one of the moderators will likely use the warning system to instruct you to post your info as a comment. It will appear as a warning but it is only a warning in the sense that you need to move the content. We'll paste your content into the warning and you can copy it into the comments of this FanPost. The warnings are not disciplinary in nature, but rather a way to keep the front page a bit more organized.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.
