if they are planning on going after a vet quarterback. I had previously projected that they would sign a vet, and it may indeed end up being Hass. If so, I am not sure if they target Froman

about the same as Smith and Smith at least has been practicing with the Playbook for a couple months. Now McNabb or Hassleback on the other hand are longtime WCO QBs.

intelligent & can mentor both Colin & even Alex to a degree. The last time Alex played behind a vet with Trent Dilfer and because this is Alex’s first Head Coach was has a background in offense that he could use another guy to teach him a few things

I was shocked blount wasn’t drafted in the later rounds. Seemed to me that he would’ve been worth a 7th round pick since the only knock against him was character concerns. In a way, it was too bad we’d already signed westbrook.

it would be a great addition as a back-up and for camp competition. Hass can come in and win games if needed. Listening to Tim Hasselbeck talk earlier it seems this is a real possibility

Meh.

Even the not-so-great QBs were picked pretty high in the draft. I doubt Tolzien’s ever going to start a game there, although they’re going to be pretty QB-starved so you never know. I believe Whitehurst is going to be their goto guy at this point, esp if MH leaves.

He was healthy all throughout college.. he gets to the pros and has two injuries in the same year… He isn’t injury prone.

Just bad luck last season.

Hell, I am surprised that we made it through the season with more than half our roster with the way Sing ran camp and practices.

I think Rice will go to the Redskins or Bears. Harvin is always hurt…. their defensive secondary stinks… Their players in the front are getting old on defense.

If they don’t get Young or McNabb, they have Christian “FutureBustList” Ponder as their QB.

You can count on the lions to lose a winnable game and maybe Green Bay resting starters for the playoffs later. If the line can get more penetration and some innovative blitzing can help that secondary on some games. We lost to the panthers and that should never have happened

Your players CANNOT and WILL NOT get better without it.

Learn your lesson from the 2010 49ers. Very good talent, extremely horrible coaching = 6-10.

I've always said Sing was a neccessary evil, and that doesn't say he was a good coach. He was blamed for a lot of bad play that wasn't his fault.

I will blame the lack of creativity on Harbaugh if that is a problem

I will blame not coaching the details on Harbaugh if it turns out that they don’t practice specific type of plays.
I will blame him cutting core players on our team,
I will blame him for hurting our starting players on pointless and stupid drills.

Really?

Look at how they did before he got there.

In 1994, he took them to the playoffs with an 11-5 record… the next season the Browns FO wiped out everything he built letting a bunch of them walk.

He built that program up and the FO dumped on him.

When he got there, he inheited a washed up Bernie Kosar… he got rid of him and had to work with Mike ‘career backup’ Tomzack… Finally, when he got Testerverde, he started doing rather well.

I cannot argue completely that you need players, but some coaches are capable of taking an average roster with some holes and turning them in to contenders.

It’s a process but it is possible.

Yea but cutting Morgan is not really going to do it.

I know this cut might be too deep for ya but if Clements don’t rework for like 9.5mil for 2yr like I’ve stated before he needs to bounce. That’s 14mil back for this team even with his 7mil cap hit this year.

Byham is a much better blocker than Konrad.

We already have two great receiving TE’s. It would be a waste to have a third when we need versatility. Guys that can do different things well.

Would you move Dallas Clark to WR? It would be similar.

Brent Jones was not the best blocker in the world either but technique gave him an edge eventually and became average at it.

They won’t always be in a 2TE set…. So I think that all three are very different, which IMO is a very good thing.

How many college’s are there in the U.S.? How many of those schools have football teams? Of those football teams, how many of them have place kickers? …Think about it…. that’s what you pay scouts for.

Led the Oregon Ducks to the Rose Bowl a few years back

Had over 4000 yards passing with 28 TDs and just 11 INTs in two seasons with Oregon. Major character concerns, and is probably nothing more than training camp fodder at this point

I was hoping for SF to sign FBS Darrin Walls and Ryan Jones. Underrated and wouldn’t be surprised if one or both become Pro Bowl level. Also want them to sign a QB, from Zach Lee, Adam Froman, or Blake Bolles. LB Brian Smith from ND played in a 34 D and seemed like he finally understood it last year.

RB Gino Gordon of Harvard runs hard and might fit in nicely as would John Griffin of UMass. RB Armando Allen of ND is a Kevin Faulk type RB and Chris Stewart of ND is a pure mauler at RG, good for the run game.
