49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh and OC Greg Roman have consistently stated they want the five best players manning the offensive line when the season starts. This isn't exactly shocking information, but it will be interesting to see how the offensive line shakes out over the next three weeks.
The line may slowly start to see a shake-up as Adam Snyder is starting to get some first-team reps at right guard. Snyder entered camp as the starting center but is likely going to lose that position to free agent addition Jonathan Goodwin. In yesterday's practice, the first team offensive line consisted of Joe Staley, Mike Iupati, Jonathan Goodwin, Adam Snyder and Anthony Davis.
The other name of note is Alex Boone, who appears to be locked into no worse than the swing tackle role. The question now is whether he can move further up and secure a starting tackle position. Anthony Davis had some struggles against the Saints and will be looking to right the ship against Oakland.
As the season approaches, how do you think the offensive line will shake out? Do you see Snyder likely taking over the right guard position by week one against Seattle? Does Boone surprise some folks and move into the starting lineup? Who are your five best guys?
