I have been a Diehard Loyal Fan to the Niners since "The Catch" by Dwight Clark against the Boys, and have always hated the Cowboys. My name is Tony, and I live in Louisville Kentucky by the way, and am a huge Kentucky Wildcat Fan, and hate the Louisville Cardinals ALMOST as bad as The Cowboys, but I work with some Dallas fans, and have been the punch line to many jokes when it comes to the Niners for the last decade. Really, here in Kentucky it is all about college basketball, and horse racing, because we have no pro sports here, but I've always loved the NFL.
I do believe in Harbaugh and Co. to truly build something special for us this decade. I think this could be the best hire for this franchise since Bill Walsh was hired. I know it is really early to say this, but from what I have learned from reading on his passion to be a coach was enough of an eye opener for me, to see the passion the man has. Also his family was born to coach, starting with his father, then his brother, and now himself.
One key in living a happy life is doing what you love, and the man surely does love to coach, and on top of that, his players seem to love playing for him, which all together should translate into good things. We are going to have many ups and downs his first year, simply because of limited time to prepare for the season due to the lockout. Our schedule this year outside of our division is really tough in my opinion. Quarterback, and pass defense are our biggest concerns to me, I believe the O-line will be fine. I've defended Smith for too long, and now is his time to show that I knew what I was talking about, but only time will tell.
I love this site and the articles, always up to date on everything about the team. I think it will in time, turn out to be a great story that Bill Walsh seen in Jim Harbaugh what many others may have not. When he hired Harbaugh at Stanford, and now "WILL" be the man to bring us back to respectability and beyond. We all knew that Walsh had a terrific eye on talent, and potential. Walsh is probably looking down and smiling about things that are going to happen for the 49ers in the future.
I will be at the 49ers vs Bengals game in week 3 about 6 rows up from the field. My Patrick Willis jersey will be on. It was an early birthday present from my awesome wife, who is over 5 months pregnant now, but will be sitting next to me at the game, and she is a big time Colts fan though. She also is a Louisville Cardinal fan, so she must be special for me to even consider marrying her.
Here is my prediction on the season, and before I start, I want you all to know that in the NFC West, we have the most talented squad in the division. If most of the key players stay healthy, we are going to win the division, like we should have last year. I think that the coaching staff will be great at game time adjustments to throw the opponents a curve ball they can't hit. We will only be consistant on Defense, and coaching adjustments. Our offense will show more 'DOWNS" than 'UPS" in the first half of the season, so be patient with them. Defense will be the staple on this years team, and everyone knows you must have a good Defense to win in this league. Our record outside the Division will be the key to reach the post season play in my opinion, because I truly think we will do very well in our Division. I see us going 10 and 6 for the season, so I know I will get bashed by many on here, so let it come.
Glad to be here folks, and I will try to respond when I can, I just stay busy around here. I have a 1 year old daughter, and one on the way, and I am 42 years old, so got a late start on fatherhood, but enjoying every minute of it. Take care everyone and go 9ers'.
