Jim HarbWalsh
After intense examinations of our first two outings, I immediately appreciate Coach Harbaugh's genius. In game one I saw a heavy dose of the trademark westcoast offense slant patterns. Most were overthrown, underthrown, etc..by QB Alex Smith. Although the accuracy wasn't there on the passes, the WR's running the routes were in position for a pass completion. In game two on a Kyle williams shallow post corner route I replayed over, and over. On this play I realized the execution of the route with the crossing wide out.
Harbaugh has also managed to be creatively simple, but not predictable. Most formations that the team lines up in are Hybrid. With the talented personel at TE and size at WR these formations work. Also the run game has been emphasized. I really love the depth we now have on the O-line. Killgore was a steal in the 5th round for sure. I see him pushing for Chilo Rachal's spot in the immediate future. The blocking protection was great, with the cup only half full. The aquisition of Colin Kapernick will prove to be absolutely ingenius. He has a laser beam arm/accuracy, and Vince Young type atheticism. Alex Smith showed flashes worthy of a first round pick at times. His consincy is suspect though, as we all know after 6 painfull years at the helm. This kid Kendall Hunter is awsome. His speed, toughness, elusiveness, size, and vision make him a lagitmate contender for the dynamic duo with Gore. Hope the 49ers re-sign the Tank. We lost T.O. and OLB Julian Peterson from being cheap. PAY FRANK MAAAAAAN.!!!!
More After the Jump
My overall accessment of Coach Harbaugh is he is an excellent coach. I can tell that already. He plays to the talent of the teams personel, and adjust his schemes accoringly, oppsed to Singletary's "we play our game regardless of what the opponent does" mentality . He scouted some great players in the draft during the off-season also. B.Edwards, J.Morgan, M.Crabtree, will be sick.Thank's for reading. Peace Stelf Bombz

I am very excited to have harbaugh as our coach. He is a football genius and I think he will take us far. Alex Smith will have a great year with harbaugh as a coach. And I agree about Frank gore. A deal needs to get done before the season starts.

Not yet.
I’ll wait and see, first, how he handles the QB position. Is he flexible or stubborn? It’s gonna be mighty interesting.
Whatever happens, though, I’ma watch every snap, just like I’ve been doing since the Garcia days. Whether the team sucks or not, I love watching Gore and Willis, and am very intrigued with Terrel Brown and Aldon Smith. Go 49ers!

Look at Andrew Luck
I, for one, believe there is a reason Luck wasn’t as talked about as THE can’t miss prospect in a few decades before he got to Stanford. His coach new how to A) Coach him, and B) Use him.
“Regarded as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com, Luck was listed as the No. 4 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2008.6 A highly-rated high school recruiting target,5 he chose Stanford over offers from Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Rice, and Virginia, after being recruited by Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh.”
Granted, that is quoted from wikipedia (the only site that is never wrong), it still proves in a way or sorts what Harbaugh can do with a QB when in complete control. People consider Luck the best prospect since Elway. And he apparently wasn’t that highly recruited out of HS, as now big school offered him anything. His college coach had something to do with making him as good as he is now, which is being the player every NFL team would love to have. I’m not suggesting in any way any of our QBs will be THE elite QB in the NFL, I’m just saying it looks like Harbaugh knows exactly how to use and teach his field general to be the absolute best he can be.
I hope I’m right, anyway.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
Luck
I was going to post video today or tomorrow in which one of the Stanford coaches mentions he was a shotgun QB coming out of HS and Harbaugh worked with him to convert. Any idea what’s correct?

the DYC (dagum yahoo commercial) had him as a prostyle QB out of HS

Again, yahoo is about as trustworth as wikipedia, but at least it’s a source
Points well taken
Of the little that I know of Harbaugh, because I admit, I’m not a huge college football fan and thus did not follow him diligently, there is still no doubt in my mind that he’s a smart guy who knows how to coach. The facts are glaring. It’s my belief that you don’t just completely turn around a football program overnight unless you possessed in you some sort of amazing skill. In Harbaugh’s case, I’m convinced that it’s his brain power. The guy is simply smart. Right or wrong? However! And that’s a big however. You just never know. The NFL is not the NCAA. If you’re an avid fan of college football, which I’m sure you are, then I’m also sure that you know what I mean by that. Again, I’m gonna wait and see. Just like I’m gonna wait and see how Alex performs in his 7th season with the 49ers. He’s such a nice character, and even though I’m not convinced that he ever will, I’ll still pull for him to succeed.
By the way, wikipedia is awesome. And thank you for the response. Take care.

Shocked
I’m surprised at all the high grades he is getting before he has coached a single game. I’m a fan and tend to be a bit optimistic, but there have been a lot of great college coaches who couldn’t figure out how to succeed in the NFL.
I think Harbaugh will be successful because of his time in the league and his pro-style offense at Stanford, but there are no guarantees that he can duplicate those results at the pro level.
"We lost T.O. and OLB Julian Peterson from being cheap"
A WR and OLB have slightly longer careers than a rb, but i see your point, and part of me wants to throw money at Gore, while the other half realizes he has 2 yrs at best.
@DdeDontTazeMe
Now is not the time to be cautious. We have a top five RB who has shouldered the load for some 70-80% of our offense for at least 5 years. If we don’t do the right thing, karma will suck, and we will be forced to indure years of what if scenarios. With Hunter, Dixon, and Omon, Frank should be used a little less providing him with more in the “TANK”.
You could just use the ( reply ) button instead of @DdeDontTazeMe , just a suggestion ...!!
