The Niners have joined with a group called JMA who are purchasing the Great America theme park from Cedar Fair for an estimated $70 million dollars. As anyone who has followed the stadium saga in Santa Clara knows Cedar Fair was a very big obstacle to the building of a football stadium in Santa Clara. They objected to the loss of part of the Great America parking lot and had indicated they were going to sue if the city and Niners moved forward with trying to build the Santa Clara stadium. However with Cedar Fair out of the way and the Niners in partial control of the theme park, the major legal obstacle to the Santa Clara stadium is now gone. Really beyond the financing, which admittedly is an issue, the stadium has no major obstacles in its way any longer and the road to Santa Clara is getting more an more likely to become reality.
