49ers vs. Bengals Injury Report: Michael Crabtree Listed As Probable

The 49ers and Bengals released their final injury reports for Sunday's game and there aren't any real surprises. Michael Crabtree's bothersome foot has him as probable so hopefully he's officially good to go. I don't think we can get any guarantees that the foot won't suffer a re-aggravation at some point, but I just hope he thinks it's 100% right now.

Dashon Goldson is not even listed on the injury report. He has been a full participant in practice and looks ready to go for Sunday. I'm curious how the team mixes and matches Goldson, Madieu Williams and Reggie Smith in the secondary. Donte Whitner is pretty much locked in at the strong safety position. While the two safety positions can be mixed and matched to some degree, you've basically got three guys who have been the "starter" at free safety at some point over the last two months.

Coach Harbaugh was asked before practice about if there would be any lineup changes in the secondary and he responded with "We'll see. Yeah, we'll see." Not exactly a shocking answer and leaves us pondering who will be playing where on Sunday. Any thoughts on how it should play out in the secondary? Shawntae Spencer will also be available so as much as half the secondary could conceivably see some changes.

I’m excited for Crabtree

If you're watching a blowout, you can pass the time by counting the double teapots.

I am too...

as long as he runs crisp, correct routes, fights for the ball, does not make a spectacle if a ball does not come his way…and he makes toast out of Nate Clements.

I’m guessing Leon Hall will be on Crabs or whoever is our “#1” guy

I'm cautiously optimistic

I think he won’t play the whole game, but I also think he’s ready to make a statement.

This game, Crabtree has a lot of "catching" up to do...

Crabtree:
Rec – 1 / Yds 4 / Avg 4 / Long 4 / Yds per game 4 / TD 0

A.J. Green:
Rec – 11 / Yds 165 / Avg 15 / Long 41 / Yds per game 82 / TD 2

J.Simpson:
Rec – 8 / Yds 180 / Avg 22.5 / Long 84 / Yds per game 90 / TD 0

Crabtree has two games to catch up right?

When Jim Harbaugh says "more is more" I think he is trying to say Moore is more.

No....Crabtree should be able to prove ( in some game) hopefully this one...

that he is an elite WR. Therefore, he should be up to put up elite WR single game numbers…that is if he truely is elite, right?

I am more concerned about the ball being thrown to him and at the proper spot with proper timing.

I'd imagine we see a rotation at WR

They probably will be cautious with Crabtree.

by Virginia9er on Sep 23, 2011 5:46 PM PDT reply actions

Look for the running game to get better with Norris out.

Miller is faster and more agile. he also didn’t Whiff on blocks like Moran the Barbarian did in the preseason. This is why they drafted Miller and now we get to see him in action.

Will he make mistakes…probably, but all he has to do is block half of his assignments and we get what Norris has provided so far…..Upgrade…

Norris looks to be a banger type

He hits anyone in an opposite jersey and forgets about opening the lanes for Frank; Bruce targets certain players because it will open the lanes

LOL Jerome Simspon- Questionable

He got too high

It's just a plant, it grows in the earth, and if you happen to set it on fire there are some effects...

by iStoner on Sep 23, 2011 6:06 PM PDT reply actions

I wonder

If Norris is really even injured. Could be a way of saving face while being benched. The fibula isn’t the weight-bearing bone. It’s a stabilizer, but what’s the “injury” exactly? Just a thought.

If it's a stress fracture

It can take up to approximately 15 weeks for the fracture to heal completely. That’s promising.

Sometimes this comments about his injury make me sad.

As I do not wish injuries on people.

Then I forget that and smile. Like I did learning about Barry Zito’s foot.

Niners need a BLOWOUT!

In this game, they shouldn’t just win. They should blowout the Bangles. Aside from some small mistakes, they’re defense is on the verge of being a monster. The offensive line is a concern, but they need to pass more to set up the run. At some point they will, once they’re more comfortable with executing the pass plays from their new playbook.

I have noticed that there are some offensive drives in both week 1 and 2 where they play differently and they score. Lots of shifts, lots of motions, quicker pass plays to set up the run. Then once they have their lead, they turn into a running offense and play very vanilla/conservative.

Call me crazy but its almost as if they choose their moments in the game to score. Think about it, they don’t get many yards but they get points with the few that they do. They are in the top half in the whole league when it comes to points. When it comes to total yards, they’re are one of the worst teams. The biggest hole in this assessment is their performance in overtime when they failed to score after having the ball first.

The Bangles?

The Niners should walk like Egyptians all over them.

How about josh morgan

He’s played very well as has ted ginn. Kyle williams getting more playing time is also great. Do you think rojo moves up from ps now that braylon is injured?

by MNY49 on Sep 23, 2011 8:33 PM PDT via mobile reply actions

Rojo?

He isn’t on the PS, he was cut. Joe Hastings is the only WR on the PS, I don’t expect to see him move anywhere.

by Virginia9er on Sep 23, 2011 10:47 PM PDT up reply actions

Excited to see....

1. Healthy Crabtree
2. Shawnte Spencer (hopefully replacing Tarrell Brown)
3. Dashon Goldson
4. Kyle Williams (more playing time)
5. Bruce Miller
6. Niners actually winning a game east of the Mississippi

marijuana

Cops tracked a package of 2.5 pounds of marijuana that was delivered to his home. They asked for and received permission to search his home and found six more pounds.

Catch The Crabs!

Well, well well finally Crabs is back.We all know what he is capable of. The WCO really suits him well as he has the perfect hands. Remember the catch against the Packers?More chemistry has to be developed between Alex and crabs.Tough call is who would partner him as all WRs are playing well?l feel that more game time for the offense for them to gel is whats required.Hand on heart if we play on more as the season goes on with the same players we can accomplish great things.
