Sounds crazy, no? Despite an anemic offense, it's entirely possible that the Niners make it into the postseason this year. Given the continued weakness of the NFC West, all the team has to do is aim for 8 or 9 victories and - presto! - they win the division. If 8 wins gets it done, they're already 25% of the way there.
Sounds like I'm smoking the hopium, I know. But if you look at the Niners' remaining opponents, at least 6 of those games are winnable:
Browns, Cards, Rams, @Cards, @Seahawks, @Rams
To reach 9 games, they have to win only one of these games:
@Eagles, Bucs, @Lions, @Redskins, Giants, Steelers
If I were a betting man I'd say they beat one of the NFC East opponents. It's not asking a lot given Alex Smith & Co scored 24 points and nearly beat the Cowboys.
