49ers vs. Eagles, NFL Injury Report: Michael Crabtree, Frank Gore, Donte Whitner Limited
The 49ers and Eagles released their Wednesday practice participation reports and while there are not many surprises, there is some interesting information to take from it. Wednesday practice participation reports won't give us final info, but they do set up the next two day's reports fairly well. For example, Michael Vick was a full participant in practice today. If he is a full participant the next two days it is safe to say he'll play.
On the other hand, Jeremy Maclin sat out practice today with his hamstring injury. Teams frequently will limit or sit players that first day of practice even if they're close to 100 percent. A good example lately has been Stevie Johnson in Buffalo who has dealt with a groin injury but played every week after sitting early in the practice week.
The 49ers could have a good example of that in wide receiver Michael Crabtree. He appears to be in solid shape and Coach Harbaugh said as much during his pre-practice press conference (more on that in a bit), but he still was limited in practice today. I think for now Crabtree will be fairly limited in practice as the training staff probably wants to be conservative with his foot issue.

Some Eagles / 49er Defensive stat's
Eagles:
Sacks- Babin 4 / Jenkins 4 / Cole 3 / Trapp 1 = 12 sacks
Int – Asomugha 1 / Samuel 1 = 2 ints
49ers:
Sacks- J.Smith 2 / McDonald 2 / Haralson 2 / Brooks 1 = 7 sacks
Int – Brock 2 / Rogers 1 / R.Smith 1 / Whitner 1 = 5 ints
Turnovers are awesome..
I would be happier if we had around ten sacks.. We should be averaging 3.3333 sacks game with our front 7 and Aldon Smith.. We aren’t really blitzing all that much for it translate much anyway.. ID rather be high in the interception and fumble ratio anyway… Its better to take away what could be points then some yards and one down.. I’m confident everything is improving every week..

One of them was a real garbage pick though...
So I’d count that as 1 pick.

We are very low in sacks so far this year.. hopefully that increases soon

Aldon Smith needs to join the party
I dont want to hear excuses, Rookie or no Rookie, Aldon should be making some sort of impact. He simply has been to quiet. Other defensive rookies are already making plays.
Other defensive rookies are already making plays.
Sure.
But when we drafted him, there was an expectation that he wouldn’t contribute right away, that he had a year or two of developing to do.
Given his potential, if he was seen as an immediate impact player he would have been one of the first two or three players taken in the draft.
“Other rookies are contributing, so he should, too!” is not a reasonably way to think about it. All rookies come into the league at different stages of development. We knew ALdon was a little ways away when we drafted him.
No it isn't a reasonable way to think
BigMar seems to think that just because a guy like Ware produced his rookie year, Aldon absolutely has to or is an immediate bust…

The injury that worries me the most is Whitner
He’s been very solid as the SS so far and he seems to have taken a real leadership role on the defense.
Not sure if Madieu Williams can fill in that well.

Soap did so well as FB last week that they are going to try him out as SS this week.
I hope Whitner is healthy and can play.
