Golden Nuggets: Game Week And The Prediction Contest
Welcome back to the work week everybody. Hope you enjoyed your Labor Day Weekend (or just your random Monday for people outside the US). Game week is upon us but we're still mixing in some more season preview content here and there. Later today I've got a post looking at some tape of the Stanford offense and what it could mean for the 49ers this season.
With the season getting started this weekend, I wanted to give everybody a heads-up that we'll have the prediction contest back for another season. For those who have never taken part, I pick a group of six games and everybody makes their predictions on who will won and the final score. Bignerd handles the score-keeping and the contest will run all season long and into the playoffs. I'll have the first games posted later tonight in a FanPost. It won't include Thursday's season opener so people will have until Sunday to make their predictions. On to the links!

Classy work as usual on the post to the Hawks Fooch
Alex Smith 86%+ QB rating with 22+ TDs this season, hopefully! :)
Interesting point in Sando's article about RBs
The longest active starting streak for running backs stands at only 48 games, with the Chicago Bears’ Matt Forte atop the list. The Tennessee Titans’ Chris Johnson is next at 32 games, with the St. Louis Rams’ Steven Jackson third at only 17 regular-season starts in a row. Only three other running backs have started more than 12 games in a row.
So Frank Gore is not injury prone. The position he plays makes it tough not to get hurt.

I was wondering if we would have the prediction contest this year.
"I may be an idiot, but one thing I'm not sir, is an idiot." - Peter Griffin
Matt Kemp - NL MVP Clayton Kershaw - NL Cy Young
Maiocco has the Texans making it to the Super Bowl.
I like that pick. If any surprise team comes out of the AFC (which is far less likely than the NFC), I’d pick the Texans to do it.
when should we look out for the prediction thread? - Im taking it this year
