49ers Vs. Saints Odds: Prop Bets For Your Amusement
The folks at Bovada (formerly Bodog) put together a rundown of proposition bets for all the NFL playoff games this weekend. I've posted all the 49ers-related odds after the jump. We can get an idea of how people think the game might go by some of these prop bets. The 49ers remain the underdog this weekend with the line nudging up from +3 to +3.5 Over at Scores and Odds it has gone up to four points.
In looking over some of these prop bets, there are a few where I would jump on the 49ers. For example, Frank Gore is 7/2 to record the most rushing yards with Ray Rice and Arian Foster ahead of him. The one drawback on Gore is that Kendall Hunter could get a fair number of yards as well. However, if the 49ers get the victory, there's a pretty good chance we'll see an active day from Frank Gore in the running game. They have set Frank Gore's over/under at 80 1/2 yards and I would definitely take the over.
You can jump back on the no rushing touchdown bandwagon. Bovada has the 49ers giving up a rushing touchdown favored at -170, with no rushing touchdowns allowed set at +145. The Saints rushing attack is a bit underrated in my opinion, but naturally I really like the 49ers rushing defense.
The most intriguing bet is on who will have more turnovers in the game. The 49ers are favored to have more turnovers at -130, while the Saints are even money to have more turnovers. All I can guess is they think the Saints will build a sufficient enough lead where the 49ers will be forced into more of a passing attack to catch up and thus could throw more interceptions.

Best Bets (though I never gamble and don't recommend it)
Saints with MORE turnovers
Crabtree with MORE than 62.5 yards
Brady with MOST passing yards
Victor Cruz with MOST receiving yards.
So far, 2011 has been Harbaugh-some!

I'll take...
Drew Brees – Under 335 Yds and Over on 2.5 TDs
Darren Sproles – Under 175 Yds
Alex Smith – Over 225 Yds
NO – 3.5 pts
I'll take....
at games conclusion, Harbaugh runs to mid-field towards Payton for traditional hand shake but instead….pulls off his 9ers coaching shirt to reveal another shirt under that says…“HONEY BADGERS DON’T TAKE NO SH_T !”
Then as Harbaugh is running of the field, the microphones pick up Harbaugh yelling….
“Who’s Got It Better Than Us ! "

Good payout on Gore.
Gore will most certainly top the other rushers this weekend. I’ll cite both, my homerism and physical matchups to back this one up.
a. Gore, in his first playoff game, will be an absolute stud. I’ve watched this guy will his way for years- and play big in the few big games the niners have had. I have no doubt he’ll be running with a new level of determination this weekend.
Foster is playing VS baltimore, and Rice is VS houston. Neither guy will have much room to run in. Gore. At home. Against the saints.Roman Harper hold ma diiiiiiiick!

Some good value bets
- Flacco at 10/1 on most passing yards (he went over 300 in first meeting with Houston).
- Crabtree at 15/1 receiving yards (wonder what the odds would be for Ginn?).
- Alex Smith passing yards (over).
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
Value bets:
*Saints to have more turnovers. I don’t know what Niners team they were watching, but we were the #1 team in giveaways and takeaways this season. I guess they think we have old Alex Smith at QB.
*Arian Foster for most rushing yards. Dude’s a beast, and there’s a combination of an underrated Texans defense and an overrated Ravens defense. I think Rice is likely to end up at more than him, but with no other strong candidates and at 5-2 it’s good value.
*SF +3.5, especially if it creeps to +4. This isn’t even homerism – the Saints are the public team of the week. You’re giving me one of the best defenses and an underrated offense with an extra week of rest at home AND spotting me 4 points? That’s value.
*Drew Brees over 335.5 yards. When we face good QBs, they typically get their yards.
I don’t actually bet, but if I had to I’d plop some money on these.
I'm just a simple Giants fan trying to make my way in the universe.

Think I might take that 5/1 Eli Manning most yards this weekend.

I'll take Alex Smith for over 225 yards
I have a sneaking suspicion that Harbaugh is gonna open up the flood gates.
I don't...
Not if Frank the Tank is running well.

I really think he will
It’s just that I did a bunch of research for my post tomorrow and more and more I hate the notion of Alex Smith as game manager QB.
I honestly think that if he got turned loose by Harbaugh he could put up numbers like the top QBs.
That 11.7 yards per completion average told me a huge amount. He also had more drops than any of the top QBs and two to three times as many QB hits and sacks, yet he still manages to do what he did.
