How wrong we were
I was just reading a few posts from the offseason, and wow, how things changed from then to the end of the season and it made me feel better (anything is better than where I was) about the end of the season. I was looking at the following post and this one from the beginning of free agency. plus a couple others I didnt link. Anyways a few comments popped out at me and I am not trying to throw anyone under the bus but it's great that we were wrong (and come on no one really thought we would be good this year anyways). We thought it was the end of the world at the start of the season, turns out we did alright I think. Next year who knows what's possible. Anyways here they are after the jump
Go Niners!!
1. " I don't see the 49ers winning ANY games.
0-16. Horrible team. I feel bad for Gore, Davis and Willis. Three guys who could make another NFL squad. The rest would be lucky to play in the UFL if it wasn’t for the 49ers"
2. "Bengals talking to Dante Whitner?
now theres a guy we could use"
Reply "An average cornerback for the Buffalo Bills? I’m good."
3. "Be great if Taylor Mays becomes "beastly" this year.
Along with Vernon Davis, Taylor Mays is also a freak of an player with his size & speed. I would think at a minimum this season the 9ers could blitz him on 3rd down to knock the crap out of Q.B.’s if nothing else."
4. "We're officially a rebuilding team
many new faces."
I know there are a bunch more but these stuck out at me.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.

Not saying I told anyone so or anything like that
But I think I was pretty spot on about this roster being ready to win a championship if they finally got some halfway competent coaching and drafting.
I do get a huge kick out of looking back at the Aldon Smith post and reading all the people declaring that the Harbaugh era was officially a disaster.
