Golden Nuggets: Don't Care Who The Rest Of The League Goes With, Justin Smith Was DPOY
Good morning, good morning. This is the point where the daily links become shorter and shorter, but we're still here and still covering everything. I'm at a point where I now need to focus on other posts at NN, I'll be doing more than usual, so I will have less time for the Nuggets. If you find anything that you consider pertinent or that you think others should read, go ahead and post it in the comments. Feel free to give me crap for it, if you like. Anyway, the linkage is decreasing because the other writers also aren't as active - it's not for a lack of looking on my part. Here's the linkage for the day, chillldren!

Funny moment
I live in Maui and my wife and I decided it would be cool to go to the Pro Bowl. The friend we went with got bored so we figured we’d leave early to beat the traffic. As we were walking out a lady commented on my jersey (I was rocking a Brent Jones throwback). We asked her where she was from (the typical question thrown at tourists) and she said she was from California and was embarrassed to be leaving as her husband was still playing. It was Justin Smith’s wife. Nice gal, our friend gave her the lei she was wearing. Nothing more to report, hopefully Mrs. Smith passed along my heartfelt thanks to Justin for all the excellent work he’s done and they have many happy years together. BTW – if you go to Honolulu go to Mit Su Ken on School Street and order the garlic chicken. It’s to die for. Best to all and GO NINERS!
Nice...I'm gonna be the one to go ahead & ask, but I know I'm not the only one wodering
Was she HOT!!

I wondered that too

Don't get me wrong, I love Aldon and want him to win DROY.
But in any competition where you’re trying to determine the best rookie, out of all the rookies (offense and defense), the only answer is Cam.
He’s had probably the best rookie season ever, by anyone, at any position.

Absurd.
You have to limit it to the quarterback position before he’s even in the discussion.
He only made it to the Pro Bowl as an alternate, and he plays the position where it’s easiest to make the Pro Bowl. (16 starting QBs per conference, 3 make the Pro Bowl. You won’t find a higher ratio at any other position.) Now compare to guys like Patrick Willis (first-team all-pro as a rookie), Jevon Kearse (14.5 sacks and eight forced fumbles as a rookie), or Ryan Clady (started his entire rookie season at Left Tackle and allowed half a sack all year).
Cam’s rookie season was certainly promising, but it doesn’t stack up with the truly elite rookie seasons of all time.
We don't need 8 in the box. We have 52 in the box.
Gore
30+ carries in the Browns game was a huge mistake. He should’ve been removed as soon as broke Perry’s record and with the game already in hand, but they kept feeding him the ball late (for minimal yardage too I might add) when the Browns were playing run all the way since we were running down the clock.
You can draw a parallel to pitch counts in baseball, where those last few pitches above a certain threshold are especially taxing because of the fatigue factor.
