We break down the first quarter and provide an open thread for the second quarter.
Fifteen minutes of game time is complete and the 49ers lead the Giants 3-0. The 49ers have shown a lot of things on offense, mixing and matching formations. We have seen Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter running, while seeing Alex Smith spread the ball around in the passing game. Six different players have caught passes thus far.
Unfortunately, the offense has slowed down in Giants territory. David Akers missed one field goal and made another, giving us the lead. The Giants have the ball heading into the second quarter on second and long. A turnover soon would be certainly be a good thing.
