Hey all you 49er fans! Seeing as how it is a short week (You haven't heard? Hawks vs 9ers = Thursday Night Football!) I figured it would be prudent to get the Q&A going as soon as possible. Some quick thoughts before we get there though:
-You may have seen the Seahawks (improbably) defeat the Patriots 24-23 this afternoon. Russell Wilson had his best day in the NFL against one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL. Marshawn Lynch also had his worst day of running this season gaining a meager 41 yards on 15 carries, good for a 2.7 YPC average.
-The Seahawks had the best defense in the league (Yards Per Game) going into the Patriots game, which took a hit after allowing more than 450 yards. However, holding the Pats, who previously scored an average of 33 PPG, to 23 points means that the Hawks now have allowed fewer points (93) on the season than any team who has played six games. The 49ers are right behind us, having allowed 94 points on the season.
-The Seahawks and 49ers both enter Thursday Night Football with 4-2 records. This game could have serious playoff implications, especially for Seattle given a loss to the 49ers would mean we drop to 0-3 in the division. Of course, 5-2 looks a lot better than 4-3 in terms of grasping the division crown.
