We break down the 49ers snap count in their 45-3 win over the Bills.

The 49ers demolition of the Buffalo Bills on Sunday provided the 49ers a second straight opportunity to roll out the entire roster. All 46 active players on the 49ers roster got to take part in yesterday's game. More importantly, most of the players got time beyond just special teams play. This game showed not only the 49ers depth, but also provided an opportunity to continue sharpening the iron that Coach Harbaugh loves to discuss so much. For comparison, check out the previous four snap count posts (Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4).

This week's snap count shows a 49ers team that once against focused on their nickel and dime defense. The Bills are a team that likes to use their pair of running backs, but Ryan Fitzpatrick is a frequent passer. Against the 49ers, neither aspect of the offense could get much going. Fitzpatrick was 16 of 26 for 126 yards and their rushing game had 89 yards on 19 carries. It is worth noting that one rush was a 35-yard direct snap play involving Brad Smith. Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller rushed 16 times for 53 yards.

QB Colin Kaepernick had a career high 19 snaps. Kaepernick got some chances on a lengthy drive in the fourth quarter, but also saw a variety of passing and rushing chances through the first three quarters. We'll break those down in a bit more detail, but he is looking more and more like a staple of the playbook moving forward.
