Thursday Night Football open thread: Dolphins vs. Bills

Mike Ehrmann

We break down the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Dolphins and Bills, and provide an open thread for discussion.

We're back for Week 11, which means Thursday Night Football is back to get the weekend started. It is another iffy matchup with the Buffalo Bills hosting the Miami Dolphins in an AFC East "showdown". The AFC East is not particularly impressive at this moment, with the Patriots sitting as the only team over .500.

It will take some work for the Bills and Dolphins to get back into the division and wild card race, but there are some opportunities. A loss tonight is probably the death blow for the Bills slim playoff chances. A Dolphins divisional road win would be a huge boost following their ugly performance in a 37-3 beatdown at the hands of the Tennessee Titans.

While this game will not impact the 49ers in the standings, it is still worth checking out what the Dolphins have to potentially offer the 49ers next month. The 49ers and Dolphins square off on December 9. Prior to last week, I was a bit concerned about the upset potential in that matchup. I'm not completely over that yet after last week's Dolphins debacle, but they will need to bounce back from that horrid performance.
