Truth be told, I just ran into all-time 49er running back Frank Gore at the Gucci store (whereabouts undisclosed for his privacy reasons).
When I saw him, I realized he wasn't just Frank Gore, he IS the 49ers. He is what makes the 49ers tick. You know, tick and tock? He is like a clock that runs 24 hours a day, tick and tocking as he goes about his business whether he is playing football or trying on a Gucci shirt that not only show class but show off all the hard work he has put in his 49er career.
When I ran into him, I was speechless at first and could only say "Hey! There you are, Frank Gore!"
Then I observed him casually stroll into the exclusive Gucci store and he looked so flexible as every muscle on his shoulders and back flexed like a cyborg made of elastic rubber. He walked with great ease as if the ground was made of neuroprene foam. He was wearing a 49er sweatshirt, of course, and sweat pants.
Knowing I do fanposts on Niners Nation, I on a whim decided to walk back in the Gucci store I walked out just a minute ago almost literally bouncing off Frank Gore. He was trying on a Gucci shirt when I approached him. I typed on my memo on my sidekick asking, "Frank- what is your conditioning secret that kept you running strong all these years?"
He gave me a very serious and solemn look, saying soberly, "I work very hard to be the running back I am."
I was in awe of this answer, he actually inspired me with this response.
Before I left the Gucci store, I closed our conversation with "I hope you win the Super Bowl."
His eyes sparkled, and he gave a wicked smile.
We talked about everything but the mention of a Super Bowl lit him up like a Christmas tree.
