The Cardinals and Cowboys talk "Alex Smith."

So the speculation begins now: Where is Alex Smith going next year? Jim Harbaugh was quoted in a recent press conference saying "Alex is still our guy no matter what. Even if we get rid of him in the off season next year, he’s still our guy." We’ve always appreciated Jims honesty and straight to the point facts of the QB situation. Alex has handled all of this "sideline and clipboard" talk very professionally. Even after a big play by Colin Kaepernick, Alex always congratulates Colin. Alex genuinely seems to like his time on the sideline just by the look on his face. Alex was asked in a recent press conference on what he thinks about Colin Kaepernick as the future of the 49ers. Alex said "Well, I’m not sure. All coach told me was that he was really looking for a ‘side armed throwing QB, with hardly any NFL experience’ to lead this team. So I’m really unsure what Coach Harbaugh is looking to do next." A reporter then asked Alex if he thought Colin was a better QB than him. Smith said "Well obviously I was having a tough couple of games before that concussion. And Kaep was able to pull through and fix up my mess against the Rams at home. And Wow! He was able to tie the Rams. The kid has some real skills."

So where is Smith going now? In recent days, Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals Tweeted "Alex Smith > My QBs #iHateKolb." Just a few moments ago, Miles Austin, wide receiver of the Dallas Cowboys Tweeted "Anyone but Romo! #BringUsAlexSmith." These are just a few of many Tweets about Alex Smith from other wide receivers in the NFL. They are all mysterious Tweets and it’s hard to figure out what they are really trying to say. So what can we take from this? I don’t know. But Alex Smith’s future as a starting QB in the league doesn’t look bright.

Where do you want to see Alex Smith next year?
