Hi Niner Nation. Great to be back in this. Latest developments in London, is that its very foggy & cold (Temperatures is at -3C (26.6°F )- I Hope the Online Temperature Conversion Tool didn't lie to me. Those who like a little gossip, the Nurse who committed suicide over Royal Family Hospital Hoax, apparently hanged herself in the nurses' accommodation at Prince Edward 7th. Hospital , the private hospital in London, which attends to the royal family (Yours truly has friends who work there). Waiting for 'CSI' Coroner's report To confirm this, which according to a BBC News correspondent, should be in the next 48 Hrs.
Well back to Football news & The Niners. This season finally got myself hooked up to cable, & got ESPN-HD, so able to watch College Football & The Live Prime Time 49er. Games & the dedicated sub-channel that highlights all the games. 49ers VS. Green Bay was a marvel to watch live. Also became a fan of College football, l chose SEC League- The 12Th. Man, being the underdog & loving their school spirit. The icing on top of the cake was JOHNNY 'Football' Manziel, winning the Heismann Trophy, & being able to watch it live, & being part of the 12Th. Man. l really enjoyed it - Also Aggies beating Crimson Tide with their legendary RB Forest Gump in their team too (LOL)- True Winners.
Now coming to (QB) Alex Smith. I remember him being in London, representing the 49ers about 2 seasons ago, before the 49ers actually came to play live after almost 20 years after they played in our WEMBLEY Stadium. He was also there to explain tactics during the Live Superbowl Game that year, & talk about the 49ers,NFL American Football et al. What happens this side of the pond is that the NFL Selects, someone from the NFL, most probably a player from one of the two teams to play in the international series, to be the 'Ambassador of the Game'. Well l must confess he did a hell of an excellent job.
When l look at what Alex Smith has gone through, from being the First round draft pick in 2005 by San Francisco 49ers, going through injuries, being put to 'scrub the bench', come back in to take his job back again from Hill, through the Samurai Mike Years. Harbaugh putting faith in him to be his starting QB, taking us to the NFC Championship Game last season, with that exhilarating Final drive against the Saints, whereby Vernon Davis (85) gets the much needed Touchdown in the End Zone. Coming back this year, Harbaugh not been straight forward, Going to see Peyton Manning Train (how could he come to 49ers with such things going on, most probably the Manning Brothers were keeping Alex Smith posted what was going down). Finally, having been playing well, under all the pressure, to be substituted for a concussion. Next thing not being told directly whats going on, & lose your starting position to Colin Kaepernick (obviously our future Elite QB). Yes, Kaep has all the tool-sets, but experience at this level & time of the season counts. With NFC Play-Offs around the way, with experienced teams coming to play in the play-offs, whats up with that PEOPLE !
So here is a poll of what you think about Alex Smith :-
