Ask/Make Fun of Field Gulls!

Didn't feel like playing 'Double or Nothing'? Inglorious Nation of Niners, you had to ruin it for us, didn't you? Probably cared more about strangling Seattle's chances for the division title than actually winning the game for yourselves, clinching a playoff berth, setting up the alley-oop for the division title and keep gunning for a first-round bye, didn't you? Yeah, I know what's up.

OK, congratulations on a big-time win. I hope some of your anxiety over switch-horses-in-mid-stream-gate has been settled a little. A strange sense of propriety is somehow compelling me to extend hopes that Justin Smith's injury is not serious and that he'll be at full strength come Sunday Night. I just wrote that. And somehow I still haven't emptied my stomach.

Some of the shine of your second consecutive SNF appearance has been rubbed off, but this is still a deliciously exciting divisional game ahead of us. Most of Field Gulls right now is suffering some cognitive dissonance about the coaches running a fake punt up by 30 in Q4, so it's not a great morning for talking football over there right now.

Oh, what's that? You have a case study on the feasibility of a 30+ point lead being blown in the 4th quarter? So we should actually be coo' wit it? Nah, thanks for the gesture, but I'm still in SMH mode at Coach Carroll right now.

It's not every year that a second SBN-to-SBN thread is worthwhile, but it definitely is for the pair of us, this year, and that's nothing but a good thing. So take however long you want to revel in your victory, but please do stop in for some thinly-veiled shared resentment and subtle pot-shots at your earliest convenience. Cheers!
