The 49ers travel to St. Louis to face the Rams in a Week 13 matchup that begins the 49ers second run through the NFC West. They went 2-0-1 through the first set of games and will look to avenge that tie against the Rams. Jeff Fisher said he looked at the game as a sort of sixth quarter, while Jim Harbaugh felt this was new business.

Although ties are odd, I would lean towards Coach Harbaugh on this one. After all, even though the individual game did not reach a satisfying conclusion, the tie did impact the standings and is just one piece of the bigger 16-game puzzle. I am fine with the system as is because we rarely see ties, and even though we do see ties, I think it is perfectly acceptable as part of the process for figuring out the best teams for the playoffs.

And so, we're back and all that matters is getting a win and moving a step closer to securing the NFC West. It's really quite simple, right?

The 49ers enter Sunday's game as 7 1/2 point favorites over the Rams. Although the 49ers face their share of question marks with Colin Kaepernick in at quarterback, Danny Amendola's doubtful status changes this game quite a bit.
