We break down the Wednesday practice participation report for Sunday's 49ers-Cardinals matchup
The 49ers and Cardinals released their first practice participation reports for Week 17, and there are not a whole lot of surprises. Mario Manningham is not on injured reserve yet, but Coach Harbaugh did say on Wednesday that Manningham would be unable to go "the rest of the way."
Justin Smith remains out of practice, and odds are pretty high he will not be playing on Sunday. The 49ers are looking to get him as healthy as possible. They can still clinch a first round bye with a win and a Packers loss, which would be huge for some additional rest.
Vernon Davis was held out of practice, although Coach Harbaugh does not believe he has suffered a setback in his recovery from a concussion. The next two reports will be pretty significant as we wait and see what his recovery timeline looks like.
