PrintBy the time this posts, Punxsutawney Phil will have been pulled out of his temporary hole and provided his prognostication for the coming year. It sounds like it will happen around 7:30am (PDF). Whether it's six more weeks of winter or an early spring, it's not generally a huge issue here in San Francisco.
This has absolutely nothing to do with football, but for a Thursday morning in January February, what the heck. And it gives me an excuse to post a clip from a classic like "Groundhog Day." I wanted the full scene of him saying the winter was never going to end, but this is the best I could come up with on YouTube. Thankfully still entertaining.

Groundhog day movie pretty much sums up the 49ers season over the last decade
felt like the same season was replayed 6 years in a row and then all of a sudden it was the 49ers are an NFC championship team . . . and they know everyone’s name.
Watch out for that first step...
