So we all are waiting patiently, and rather anxiously, for free agency in March, and the NFL draft in April. This is the prime time of year for Draft analysts to post their copy of the Mock Draft. I know that I have 0 trusts in Mock drafts, especially before free agency. A contributor to that emotion may be that I don't think rookies ever amount to much for a few years, or maybe that's just me. So I've created a scoring system to judge these Mock Drafts so we can know how trustworthy they will be. Here's how its scored.
The Mock drafts will be compared to the actual draft itself to check the accuracy. I will compare the three most popular Mock Drafts, Mel Kiper Jr's, Todd McShay's, and Mike Mayock's.
Correct position-and pick incorrect player :+1point
(Example-Colts projected QB Andrew Luck, but take QB Robert Griffin instead.)
Correct team, correct player:+2points
Correct team, incorrect round/pick:+1point
Bonus If a Mock draft projects a trade of picks correctly they will be awarded +3 points.
Note:Only first through third rounds will be scored.
