Joe Staley Gets Pay Bump With Pro Bowl Selection, According To Reports
49ers offensive tackle Joe Staley put together a solid 2011 season and by season's end he had earned a spot on the 2012 NFL Pro Bowl roster. It turns out that selection was worth a little something extra to Staley.
According to Brian McIntyre (a solid source for NFL contract info), Staley will get a bump in the remaining base salaries. His base salaries from 2012 through 2017 will each increase $500,000. For 2012, that raises his base salary from $1.3 million to $1.8 million. This Pro Bowl boost will earn him an additional $6 million through the life of the contract if he remains with the 49ers through 2017.

Joe had two seasons in one...
the first half of the season he played timid and average, C grade
the second half of the season he played very agressive and well, A grade
Which Joe Staley will we get in 2012?
Hard to tell.
Hasn’t been the model of consistency throughout his career. Very frustrating at times since we all know how well he is capable of playing.
Yup the 6 sacks in the first 8 games was maddening
I don’t think he gave up 1 after that. If he can carry that into next year I won’t give 2 hot turds that we’re paying him an extra 500K… and probably more after he gets another PB birth.
Gimme 1 round!

Don't really think he deserved the pro bowl... But good for him all the same
It brings his deal up to his actual market value now.
Gimme 1 round!
Yeah a little mixed feelings here
I want him to play at a probowl level but I am not sure he actually did.
