2012 NFL Free Agency Open Thread: At My Signal, Unleash Hell

Fooch's Update 1:07pm: 49ers re-sign Tavares Gooden to a one-year deal. It's a strictly special teams move. But, considering how good that unit was, it make sense.

A year after we were forced to wait until late July for free agency, the big kickoff in March is back. At 1:00pm PT, the new league year starts, which means free agents can negotiate with other teams and trades can be executed. That means the Redskins deal for the Rams #2 pick can become official. That also means this reported deal sending Brandon Marshall to the Bears for two third round picks can become official.

We'll have plenty of posts about 49ers-related rumors and other pertinent news, but for now how about we get things rolling with an open thread for rumors and news? The 49ers have plenty of areas still to address and have been much busier than they were at the beginning of 2011 free agency. Of course, things could come to a screeching halt once 1:00 p.m. hits. We'll just have to wait and see.

For this thread, as interesting news unrelated to the 49ers pops up, I'll try and add updates within the body of the post rather than keep creating new posts. Also, for today, site decorum will be off given how quickly things can happen.
