What is Tom Condons role in all of this?

After all this is over, I expect Smith's agent Tom Condon will be sued.

First why couldn't he close the 3 year 24 million deal that was supposedly offered to Smith?

-Alex would of done anything short of extra-ordinary to get this deal done.

According to all his comments "obviously, Alex wanted to be a forty-niner.

-On the other end, according to all coments...Harbaugh obviously wanted Smith to be a 49er

The big question is then in the meantime, what went wrong?

In my opinion Tom Condon is more to blame for this than anyone. We as Niner fans are pointing fingers at only Smith or the 49ers.

Again, How did it ever come to this? I will say it's because of a third party.

Everything, was just fine until for things to get done and move forward, with both partiesTom Condon became involved.

I think Tom (subconsciosly or not) realized to drive up values for both Quarterbacks being represented...He intentionally sought for more bidders. I feel it was Tom Condon that told the forty-niner organization that Peyton Manning would be interested in playing for them. Which is technically true but, in the back of his mind knowing that the 49er brass would never be willing to match the $90 million dollars that after - and only after Coach Harbaugh met with Manning did the Denver Broncos and Tennesse Titans reportedly offer.

Without hearing much more and until something else comes out with a different explanation - I am pointing the finger directly at the agent.

I'm Tom Condon and I approve this message
