Mock Season Standings 0.5

Anyone else tired of hearing draft, draft, FA, draft, Manning, Smith, Manning, etc.? I have decided to embarrass myself completely and put down how I think the regular season will go. I almost had this done and then the silly Manning thing happened; I had to make a few adjustments. (I personally think that Manning will make a big difference on the Bronco's.) I also had to adjust the Saints due to "bounty-gate" and their overly-harsh penalties.

NFC WEST

  1. San Francisco 49ers 13-3
  2. St. Louis Rams 11-5
  3. Arizona Cardinals 6-10
  4. Seattle Seahawks 6-10

NFC NORTH

  1. Green Bay Packers 12-4
  2. Detroit Lions 10-6
  3. Chicago Bears 8-8
  4. Minnesota Vikings 5-11

NFC EAST

  1. Dallas Cowboys 9-7
  2. New York Giants 8-8
  3. Philadelphia Eagles 8-8
  4. Wash. Redskins 4-12

NFC SOUTH

  1. Carolina Panthers 11-5
  2. N.O. Saints 7-9
  3. Atlanta Falcons 6-10
  4. T.B. Bucs 2-14

AFC WEST

  1. Denver Broncos 11-5
  2. Kansas City Chiefs 8-8
  3. Oakland Raiders 8-8
  4. San Diego Chargers 3-13

AFC NORTH

  1. Baltimore Ravens 12-4
  2. Cincinnati Bengals 10-6
  3. Pittsburg Steelers 8-8
  4. Cleveland Browns 6-10

AFC EAST

  1. New England Patriots 12-4
  2. Buffalo Bills 8-8
  3. New York Jets 5-11
  4. Miami Dolphins 3-13

AFC SOUTH

  1. Houston Texans 13-3
  2. Tennessee Titans 10-6
  3. Indianapolis Colts 6-10
  4. Jacksonville Jaguars 4-12

In the NFC, San Francisco wins home field advantage, with Green Bay, Carolina, and Dallas winning their divisions. Wild card teams are St. Louis and Detroit.

In the AFC, Houston wins home field advantage, with New England, Baltimore, and Denver winning their divisions. Wild card teams are Tennessee and Cincinnati.

Some reasons I picked what I did:

  • Manning will make a difference for Denver.
  • Jets and Chargers will fall apart this year. New Orleans will try, but have too many obstacles to overcome.
  • St Louis was hit by the injury bug last year. They will come back with a vengeance.
  • Atlanta, in trying to fix their one-and-done's in the playoffs, end up damaging their chemistry.
  • Miami will just suck.

Now why would I, an admitted 49er and CK7 homer, do this? One, I can't do much worse than the so-called "experts" (Pat Kirwan, I am directing this at you. Remember when you predicted the Niners to be in the Suck-for-Luck competition? All I have to say is HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!) Two, I'm not a big draft expert, so this was the best I can do. Three, it's time for someone to get ripped on something else other than QB's and Crabtree.

Have at it!
