49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh is over in Florida for the NFL owner meetings and he took some time to chat with the media today. He spoke about the 49ers decision to sign Randy Moss, discussing how the team considers it a fresh start, with none of the previous issues being relevant to where Moss is at right now.
The folks at CSN Bay Area put together some video courtesy of the NFL Network later yesterday and it features some more quality content of Coach Harbaugh. This might be some of the best stuff we've seen from him as he seemed a little more loose than normal. In the video, posted after the jump, Coach Harbaugh discussed his workout with Moss and really seemed to get excited describing how things went. You could see the competitive juices flowing.
The 49ers have not locked up every free agent they have pursued, but I can see how excited players can get to play for such a head coach. The team bought into what he was selling this past season, and things worked out pretty well. The team hit a bit of a lull in late November/early December, but bounced back strong and finished 2011 with strong momentum.
The 49ers head into 2012 with arguably an improved team, but it is entirely possible they could finish with fewer wins courtesy of their tough schedule. If they run into low points in 2012, it will be interesting to see how the coaching staff and team respond. I don't expect things to suddenly get ugly, but it's a lot easier to remain upbeat during a 13-3 season. It should make for an interesting storyline to follow this coming season.
