We are still several weeks from the 2012 NFL Draft, but that doesn't mean people can't start making their plans for Draft parties. Now that I am out here on the East Coast, I may try and get up to New York City for the three day event. I've never been to the Draft, so we'll see what I can come up with. Has anybody here ever been to the Draft? How do you plan on spending the draft?
If you're in the Bay Area, you can always consider checking out the 49ers April 26 Draft party. It will take place at the Santa Clara Convention Center, which is across the street from the site of the new stadium. The event will start at 4:00 p.m. PT and will cost $5 per person. Ticket proceeds will go to the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, which goes towards improvements at the Golden Gate Bridge.
49ers season ticket holders will have first priority to purchase Draft Party tickets beginning Friday, March 30, at 10 a.m. via a private website which will be emailed to them directly. General public tickets will be available for purchase Monday, April 2, at 10 a.m. at 49ers.com.
The event will feature activities including interactive booths, performances by the Gold Rush Cheerleaders and Sourdough Sam, and a chance to meet with 49ers current players and alumni. Food, drink and 49ers merchandise will be available for purchase.
Raffle tickets will be sold by 49ers Gold Rush Cheerleaders and fans will have the opportunity to win prizes. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the 49ers Foundation, which supports development programs for underserved youth to keep them "Safe, On Track and In School".
