Peyton Manning: Decision 2012!

Stay connected for news and updates

While there is a slightly more significant "Decision 2012" going on across the country, for football fans, the big news over the next week will surround Peyton Manning and where he plans to play football in 2012. The list of possible destinations is fairly extensive with as many as ten or twelve teams potentially making a pitch to the former Colts QB. It sounds like Manning is hoping to get his decision hammered out over the next week.

One team that would appear to be out of the race early on is the Washington Redskins. Peyton does not appear to be down with playing his brother twice a year and dealing with the DC cold. Of course, I'm moving to DC next week and considering I'm leaving the weather of San Francisco, maybe Peyton should man up and deal with the cold weather of DC! Of course, if Peyton gets a crazy Dan Snyder offer (is that redundant?), maybe he changes his mind. As a famous philosopher once said, "Everybody's got a price!"

Given how the Peyton World Tour is developing, the 49ers could find themselves facing Peyton at least once, and maybe twice next year. Among others, the Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals all might have some sort of interest. Even if the 49ers do not sign Peyton Manning, he could be all up in their grill in 2012.

Bovada released some odds on Wednesday as to where Peyton Manning might land, and the Dolphins were the favorites at 2/1, with the Redskins at 13/4 and the Seahawks and Cardinals both at 7/2. In an interesting suggestion, Brad Wells of Stampede Blue suggested Denver as a place where he could see Manning land. I could see the Broncos as a dark-horse option if Elway thinks he can score the veteran QB.

Where do you see Peyton landing?
