Ok, so I have developed a serious draft crush on Greg Childs. But the more film I watch the more I think that the 49ers should seriously look at him in either the third or four round. He has all the qualities that the Niner's are looking for in a WR - 6'3 220 pounds and during his pro day ran a 4.41 with a V leap of 41 inches - also runs excellent routes with large soft hands.
So why isn't he a first round player - a serious knee injury that really slowed him down last year. But I remember a few years back we took a chance on another talented player with knee issues.............yes
Frank Gore was our risk and while others missed out, we ended up striking gold. Watch the tape of this kid and wonder if we can strike some gold again. I just hope he is still around in the later rounds..............others are also beginning to take notice of him and his special talents. Childs is an extraordinary target because of his unusual combination of size, speed, jumping ability, long arms (34?-inch) and, finally, huge hands, (10?-inch). - Frank Cooney, The Sports Xchang.
Check him out on You Tube "Greg Childs vs Auburn and Georgia" - So what are your thoughts..............take the risk or not. We already have 5 WR and can afford to roll the dice.
