This is for those of you who are not liking our first round pick because "we wasted a 1st round pick on a guy who is going to ride the bench."
I have seen this argument a lot on NN lately and here is why it carries very little weight: All but one position drafted at #30 for us was going to be a backup this season. Guard is the only starting spot up for grabs. Any other position by default would be a depth player. Not that said player won't get plenty of playing time like Aldon Smith did last year (Haralson was the starter) but don't freak out people. This is a great problem to have. The Rams seem to be big "Winners" because of all the talent they brought in but remember that the NFL is a ton faster than college and ALL rookies take time to adjust and learn the pro game.
Jenkins and James are going to be contributors this year without having the pressure of being the obly option for the offense. They will be able to learn Harbaugh's system and grow naturally rather than be forced into action(like a certain QB we all love to hate and hate to love).
