The 49ers will host their rookie minicamp this weekend, and while the team has filled out their 90-man roster, they are allowed to bring in guys to "try out" with the team. The brother of a 49ers player will be taking part:
Does this last name sound familiar? Humboldt State DT Andrew Iupati will be trying out during #49ers weekend minicamp, his agent said....

Although the 49ers have 90 players on the roster, a strong showing by a tryout player could net him a contract over one of the other UDFAs. A tryout player is a long shot heading in, but you can't make the team if you don't get a chance.
Andrew Iupati actually helped out a bit at the 49ers offseason practices last year during the lockout. Matt Maiocco had an interesting piece on junior Iupati when Mike Iupati was watching his brother as a member of Humboldt State taking on Central Washington.
On a related note, the 49ers have invited former Sacramento State QB Jeff Fleming to camp. That fills out the weekend camp roster, which previously lacked a QB.
