After a loooooong June and July, the NFL season is fast approaching. This coming week, NFL rookies will begin reporting to training camp for several teams. The 49ers welcome their rookies to camp next Saturday, July 21. The team will also welcome some veterans, including some of the quarterbacks, I believe.
In one sense this is not a huge deal because a lot of 49ers players have been working out at the team's facility in Santa Clara. On the other hand, this is of course a very big deal. This is the official report day, and thus the beginning of training camp. Veterans are not required to report until July 26, but plenty will be around in anticipation of that day.
So now that things are finally starting to ramp back up, how are you enjoying your final weekend of absolutely no football? Beyond just having news in the coming couple weeks, we're less than four weeks from the 49ers first preseason game, against the Minnesota Vikings. It's getting close to the time to start getting into your fall weekend routine.
Although "real" football is still a few weeks away, at least we'll have something resembling the start of football next week. That is most definitely a good thing!
