UPDATE: Sorry for the delay guys. After the jump, I've posted the current settings of the league. For the most part, I'm planning on sticking with the scoring as is. I may be will to make some minor changes, and would like to discuss bonus points once the league is up to see if anyone is interested in those. For those interested I will be sending out invites shortly.
UPDATE 2: So so far we have SportsChicken and Ak4niner in the league. Looking for 9 more. I see there's 2-3 more interested in the comments. It'd be nice to get the league filled by the middle of August, so we have more options to set a draft date and more time to make any last minute decisions on the league.
A couple of years ago, smileyman started a custom league on ESPN. smileyman, I've tried reaching you about restarting the league last year and this year. If you are not interested in being commish of the league that is fine, I'd love to take it over though. It was a fun league with some unique rules and high scores. Key among these for me was 5 IDP starters. 1 DL, 2 LB, 1 DB and 1 Flex Defensive Player. smiley, if you're not interested in either restarting this league or passing on control, could you at least send me, or post here, all of the rules of the league. I would like to recreate the league if I cannot restart the existing one, and would like to get it as close as possible to the original.
Also, if anyone has any interest in this type of league, please respond here. The offensive settings were pretty standard (QB, 2 RBs, 2 WR, TE, Flex). Can't remember if we had kickers or not. A fun twist was giving players points for return yardage. 4 divisions, 3 teams per division. 5 playoff spots (the 4th division winner and 1 wild card team played on wildcard weekend for a place in the 4 team playoffs).
For the most part I'd want to stick to these settings so don't expect much change, but if someone has a really good idea, I'd definitely be open to some tweaks. The thing I liked about this league was that it was quite different from a standard league, and forced you to think outside the box a little when it came to building your team. Plus with the 12 or so starters, a solid team across the board could survive losing their #1 RB that they drafted in the top 5, as opposed to standard leagues where that may be the nail in the coffin for a team.
A quick overview first. This is a 12 team league with 4 divisions and 5 playoff spots (4th division winner and 1 wild card team basically play for the 4th spot in the playoffs. Below are the roster and scoring settings, mostly kept the same as the original league, with a tweak or two:
