The AFC Rookie Symposium is turning out to be a source of great amusement for me, from Audie Cole doing... something... to a pole last week, to Green Bay's rookies having their crippling fear of footballs revealed this week.

If you include the guy trying to hold that kid's hand, I count four players in this photo recoiling from the strangely levitating football in something approximating fear. There may be other, more reasonable explanations for the reactions in this photo, but I refuse to accept them. Football players. Grown men. Afraid of a football. That's my story. That's what I choose to believe.

Of course, the football is hovering in midair. And that is pretty darn freaky.

A dramatic representation, if you will:

Young Child: "Hey guys, you want to see something cool? Something real David Blaine freaky cool?"

Grown Men: "Hell yeah!"

Young Child: "Okay, okay. Gather around me. Now look at this football. Do you see the football?"

Grown Men: "Hell yeah!"

Young Child: "Okay. Just keep looking at the football."
