This is kind of random, but I thought it was pretty cool. Over on Twitter, I have a list set up for following the various 49ers players on Twitter. In the last hour, players were tweeting out as the team began making their way from Santa Clara to Candlestick Park. The team takes a busy up the Peninsula and it's safe to say a few guys were excited. I've posted some of the tweets after the jump.

It's worth noting that for 21 players, this is their first ever NFL game. They have made the trip to their college stadium, and for some schools that is a huge deal. But this is the NFL and as Ron Burgundy might say, this is kind of a big deal. For some of these guys, what happens tonight could be a final nail in the coffin to eventually getting cut this week or a few weeks from now.

I don't think many players can lock up a starting spot, but a strong performance can really help, both in terms of how the coaching staff views them, and also the confidence they might gain moving forward. A strong performance can do wonders. We'll see how it plays out.
