Frankly, this is a bit premature to write considering that a lot of things can change pending the results and outcome of the Broncos game this weekend. Granted, a lot the player that I am going to list below may not get too much playing time with consideration to this being the "rehearsal" game.

Just about this time of year in every season, we see a first cut. Typically the original 80 would be cut to 65. But with the new CBA in place, it will go from 90 players to 75. And then after the last regular season game is completed, the final roster cuts will be made down from 75 to 53 which is 22 more players.

For now, I'm just going to stick with the first cuts. I believe that this could wind up being relatively close to what the coaching staff does considering most of these guys are playing in the 4th Quarter and not getting much time, very little time, in these games. This is not what will make the final determination but it does give us a general idea.

Nothing too shocking here but let's take a look.

11 - Joe Holland (LB)

12 - Anthony Mosely (DB)

13 - Deante' Purvis (DB)

14 - Kyle Nelson (LS)

15 - Akaika Alma-Francis (LB)

Note that these are just my personal opinions on who should be cut based on what I have seen ... or a better way to say it would be have not seen. The players here just don't seem to warrant anymore consideration to be on the roster once the 75 have hit. Further note, I realize that I have not been attending practices, so I may be totally off on a couple. But I would stress couple due to the fact that they really have not showed up too often in games.

There's always the chance that one or two of these guys wind up practice squad players. But for purposes of this subject, these are the thoughts I have on first-cuts.
