49ers Defeat Broncos Behind Second, Third String: Press Conference Time

Stay connected for news and updates

Well, the 49ers struggled early, but they emerged over the course of the game and pulled out a 29-24 victory over the Denver Broncos to improve to 2-1 in preseason play. Wins and losses don't really mean a whole lot in preseason play, but it was nice to see the 49ers rebound from a horrendous start to pull out the victory. The 49ers first string looked pretty abysmal at times on both sides of the ball before Vernon Davis hauled in a catch and run for a 44-yard touchdown.

In my mind I like to think the 49ers have engaged in a bit of rope-a-dope this preseason and are keeping things fairly vanilla. I would have hope to see the 49ers overall talent do a better job against the Broncos, but in reality I'm mildly indifferent during the preseason. We'll get one more week of action next week against the Chargers to see what happens, but for me, I just want to get to the regular season at this point.

In the meantime, head over to 49ers.com/live to check out Jim Harbaugh's postgame press conference.
