This year I have decided to try and be a prediction analyst. I read and listen to what some of them say and start thinking that I am better then them and their silly prediction. So, to put my money where my thought is, I am going to predict games this year. This way I can thoroughly embarrass myself publicly. (I do badly enough, maybe I'll get a job at ESPN!)

The Monkeys, when they heard that I was going to do this, said they wanted in on the action. (Well, they grabbed my laptop and started typing their predictions.) I made them a bet; if my record was better than theirs at the end of the year, they would no longer throw bananas at me. If I lose that bet, I'll put a monkey as my avatar during the playoffs here on NN. They agreed.

So, after the jump, week one predictions.

Dallas Cowboys @ NY Giants - This will be a good game. Both teams have talent. However, I think there will be two deciding factors. One, location. Two, Jason Witten.

Miami Dolphins @ Houston Texans - YGBKM, right? Miami is rebuilding, Texans are a top team, and they are in Houston.

New England Patriots @ Tennessee Titans - Locker is going to struggle while Brady shows off his new WR toys.

St. Louis Rams @ Detroit Lions - I think the Rams keep it close, but Stafford out-guns Bradford.

Washington Redskins @ New Orleans Saints - Saints are still reeling from all the adversity they have been slammed with over the past eight months.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Cleveland Browns - As Vick goes, so goes the Eagles. Defense is still over-rated, but can handle Cleveland.

Atlanta Falcons @ Kansas City Chiefs - Kansas City goes on a tear against the Falcons. Their one-two RB punch overwhelms Atlanta.

Buffalo Bills @ NY Jets - Jets kept the "Wildcat" too secret and flub it up. Offense can't score a TD.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Minnesota Vikings - Minnesota shows that they have made improvements, while poor Jacksonville misses MJD.

Indianapolis Colts @ Chicago Bears - Indy makes a game out of it with the Luck of the QB but the Bears Forte it.

Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona Cardinals - Seahawks have the overall better team. Play is not spectacular in this game, but the 'hawks D plays very well.

Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Bucs start out hot right out of the gate and even though Cam plays very well, a last-minute interception seals it.

San Francisco 49ers @ Green Bay Packers - Game of the week! The homer in me wants to pick my team to win it, and I think that it is kept very close. A-Rod tries to gets them into FG range at the last second, and a bad ref call seals it.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Denver Broncos - Pittsburg is old, and the way Manning picks them apart proves it.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens - A tough AFC North matchup. Ravens D even without Suggs keeps them in it.

San Diego Chargers @ Oakland Raiders - Two AFC West teams known for losing it when it counts. Raiders can run better, SD can throw better. In the end, the Norv Turner effect happens.
