The 49ers are back for a few more press conferences today, and I think it's a fun group of people. Greg Roman will start things off, and while he doesn't go into detail about scheme and game-planning, he always strikes me as a sharp guy who knows what he's talking about. After listening to Jimmy Raye talk for two years, I suppose anybody would be an improvement. But there's something about Roman that makes him a good listen.

The two players following Roman are Colin Kaepernick and Kendall Hunter. Kaepernick will get plenty of chance to discuss his battle to secure the number two QB spot. Hunter is fighting for more carries behind Frank Gore, but would seem to be leading the pack for likely carries after Gore. Brandon Jacobs is apparently impressing folks, but would seem more in line for the power role. LaMichael James will likely see his role expand as the season moves on, but it's hard to tell how that will sort itself out as it relates to Hunter.
