Maybe this is me being sentimental, but I feel something has just been added to the NFC West. A new battle, a new fight, a different kind of champion will be crowned this year. Who is superior? Who will be the one left standing, who will only be second to one man? Who can be the best of the rest? Moss vs Owens: The Final Chapter
Randy Moss is sitting at 954 receptions, 14,858 receiving yards, and 153 touchdowns. Terrell Owens is sitting at 1,078 receptions, 15,934 receiving yards, and 153 touchdowns. Tied for second all time in receiving touchdowns at 153, now sitting in the same division after a year off from football. Both on one year contracts, trying to prove they are more than just divas. Both known as selfish players, and both having dawned a 49ers uniform. And this season they will fight to see who will be the best of the rest.
No one will ever be Rice, but who is number 2? Owens might not have anything left, but I know better. He will make that Seahawks team. Moss has looked well so far in camp. I honestly felt bad, because I thought Moss was gonna pass Owens with out him having a chance to defend himself. Ahh but now it seems it will be a battle for the ages. And yeah I know they are on the wrong side of 35. And yes, these guys should be hanging it up. BUT, where is the fun in that?
There is nothing more I would love, than to see these two go catch for catch. touchdown for touchdown all season. Looking across the field at each other twice this year. I am sure this will become a story that NFL Network will talk about for their Thursday night game if Owens makes the team and is productive. I see them both as first ballot HOF players. I know some of you might be bitter at T.O. still. Yet I am sure there are some who have remained fans of the sometimes enigmatic superstar. In the end tho I predict Moss will leave this season as second all time in receiving touchdowns. But in all I feel T.O. was a better WR. But what do you think?
