Nick's Picks, Week 2

Picks for the week, setting aside whether teams cover or not.

Bears win tonight to start things off - matchup nightmare for the Packers. Most uncertain pick I made: Carolina over New Orleans.

- CHI @ GB (-5.5) - Bears wins. Upset. The Bears can generate a pass-rush without blitzing, negating Rodgers' spread attack. On the other side of the ball, the bears will be able to run the ball effectively to control the clock and can convert on 3rd down and in the red zone with massive possession receiver. special teams edge to chicago

- TB @ NYG (-7.5) - Giants win. Tampa may have beaten the Panthers, but Freeman will be frustrated all day by the Giants pass rush.

- AZ @ NE (-13.5) - Pats win. Won't be close

- MIN @ IND (1.5) - Colts Win. Upset. Luck should be able to bounce back at home and pick apart the Vikings Secondary. Jared Allen may change that though

- NO @ CAR (2.5) - Panthers Win. Upset. Saints appear to lack the ability to adjust in game. Cam will be able to avoid the pass rush with his feet and find open receivers. Will be a shootout

- KC @ BUF (-3) - Bills Win. Were Embarrassed by the Jets last week. Bills Secondary should be able to smother KC

- BAL @ PHI (-2.5) - Ravens Win. Upset. Philly isn't that good. Lots of Turnovers from Vick

- OAK @ MIA (2.5) - Raiders Win. Miami Sucks

- CLE @ CIN (-7) - Close, but Bengals Win. Lack of a QB on Browns will result in very few wins this year

- HOU @ JAX (7) - Texans. Long Day for Gabbert

- DAL @ SEA (3) - Seattle. Upset. Huge Home Advantage, good defense, nice running game. Wilson wins this game in the 4th quarter.

- WAS @ STL (3) - Skins win. STL has no offensive line to speak of, will be very busy with the impressive Skins defense. RGIII won't have a week like week 1, but will get it done

- NYJ @ PIT (-5.5) - Steelers Win. Frustrate Sanchez, force turnovers. Steelers win a low-scoring game.

- TEN @ SD (-6) - Chargers Win. Matthews comes back, runs for 140 yards

- DET @ SF (-6.5) - 49ers Win. Lack of a running game forces Stafford to pass 50 times. 49ers roll to 2-3-6 defense like last week, get pressure with 3 - 4 linemen. 49ers passing offense beats up on awful Detroit secondary, running game chews up lousy LB corps. Good Chance Moss has a long TD

- DEN @ ATL (-3) - Broncos Win. Upset. Inability to generate any sort of pass rush whatsoever will result in Peyton Manning Chewing up the Falcons Secondary - Grimes out for year too. In Atlanta, the running game is nonexistent and the Broncos have excellent edge rushers to force a couple mistakes by Ryan.
