49ers ranked number one everywhere you look. For some fans it's a first, for others it's been a long while. My love started in the Jeff Garcia era, and every game I've ever watched to me, feels like a prayer. I've sat at the edge of my couch, seat, or where ever praying the 49ers can pull off a win. Some friends I know tell me of times they would just go over to a friends house or host a party and the game would just be on knowing the 49ers were going to win.
This past Sunday as I left the bar after sweating bullets, everyone around was happy cheering. Then I started listening to people, "Atleast next week will be easy," "Vikings, are one of the worst in the league," "we can go undefeated."
I must agree, the Vikings do look easy on paper. One game at a time though, no matter how easy or how hard an opponent looks. I look optimistically at the hardest opponent when victory seems so far out of reach no matter how bad we are losing. I never lose faith until that final whistle. Even if our opponent seems easy, I fear every possible way we can lose.
All I want is for my team to prepare for the vikings, like they are facing the third playoff team in a row. I want every fan to know how hard our team works, to beat any team. The cardinals, seahawks, and rams are all keeping close contention with us. I hope they continue to go out and win, so that when we play them we play the strongest possible teams to prepare us for a playoff run this year.
