49ers Snap Count Vs. Vikings

We're back with another rundown of the 49ers snap count (Week 1, Week 2). Last week, I only broke down special teams snaps for non-starters. This week I've gone though and included everybody that played on special teams.

The 49ers spent 79 plays on defense, seven more than in Week 1 and 14 more than Week 2. We can see the difference in the game-plan as Chris Culliver was involved in only 30 plays, after 57 last week and 65 the week before. Isaac Sopoaga was in on 34 plays, which more than doubled the combined 15 snaps through the first two games.

Randy Moss continues to see fairly limited snap counts. He matched his season high of 21, which also led to his highest percentage of plays thus far this season. At the same time, he saw only seven plays in the second half, even as the 49ers were playing catch up much of the day.

Kyle Williams saw a slight bump, while Michael Crabtree continues to work as the team's No. 1 receiver. Mario Manningham appears to be settling in as the de facto No. 2 receiver. Manningham hauled in five catches for 56 yards and seems to be getting worked into the game plan a bit more as the season wears on.
